Pop-up Youth Gallery

What is a pop-up gallery?

We have seen some amazingly talented young artists in our community and want to support and encourage them to continue with their art as well as to showcase their pieces. Art has always been a big part of the church and St Peter’s is no exception, with some beautiful paintings and several stained glass windows. What better place to set up a temporary art gallery over the summer?

During Revival and Summer24 St Peter’s Church will be open for young people aged 11-25 to display a piece of artwork on the theme of ‘My Community’. Visitors will have the opportunity to make an offer to buy pieces that they like and, if the young artist is happy, we will handle the sale and pass the proceeds on.

Who can take part?

Anybody aged 11-25, at the time of the event, can contribute a piece of art. Those under 18 will need to talk to their parents before booking a spot to make sure that they are OK with you taking part. You will also need to have a think about whether you are happy to be contacted about the possible sale of your piece.

What else do I need to know?

We will accept artwork in any medium, so whether your passion is pens, charcoals, paint or collage, now is the time to get creative. You are free to frame it if you would like, but this is not compulsory.

All finished pieces need to be no larger than A3 in size and need to be available from Friday 9th August to Friday 23rd August.

There is no cost to taking part other than your own art supplies!

When and where do I bring my artwork?

There are a few options to dropping off your artwork.
