Summer is coming!!!
Great news! Tickets for all events in our Summer 25 Week of Activities have just been released. We know from experience that tickets will go fast so book now to avoid disappointment. All tickets are free, but booking is essential. Some events include food, so be sure to select food options that are good for you. If you have any food allergies or intolerances, please book your ticket, but make sure you contact us to let us know how we can help you keep safe and well at our events.

Welcome to our website. We’d like to thank you for popping by and take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our public worship services in the coming days. They are open to all and all are welcome.
Sunday worship is a key expression of our love for God and we believe that when we gather together, Jesus is with us and among us. This coming weekend we have services in both of our churches and, even if you’ve never been before, you are sure to find a warm welcome.
Christ Church
We are holding our Christmas Tree Festival at Christ Church this weekend and we would be delighted to welcome you to Christ Church this coming Sunday (8 December) when we have a special service for all ages amongst the many Christmas trees led by our Youth Worker, Kat Jenkins. This service with tea and coffee available throughout begins at 11am. Just turn up a few minutes before and find a seat. If it’s your first time, someone will be available to help if you need it.
St Peter’s Church
At St Peter’s this Sunday (8 December) Revd Colin Resch will lead us in a service of Holy Communion – sharing of bread and wine in remembrance of Jesus sacrifice for us – that begins at 9.30am. Turn up a few minutes before and find a seat. The service will use the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer and Bible readings from Philippians 1.3-11 & Luke 3.1-6.
Later in the afternoon, at 4pm, will be our Senior Sunday tea. A short half-hour service of hymns, prayers and scripture followed by a sandwich tea. This service is especially for over sixties and you would be most welcome if you think you qualify.
Carol Service Amongst the Trees
To finish off our Christmas Tree Festival, there will be a special carol service. The service will include some traditional carols, Bible readings, poems, videos and time for reflection. It will be followed by refreshments served in the Bower Room and a final opportunity to view the trees. All are welcome to join us. There’s no charge but donations towards the work of the Church are welcome.

In it you will find all sorts of information about our upcoming services and events. We are always interested in receiving articles of interest, so please email the editor (see back page) if you have anything you would like included.

We are very excited to announce that it contains a handy pull-out guide to our Summer 24 week of Activities which will be taking place from 12 – 18 August. Ticket allocations have now gone live and we already have takers for every event. Do take a look at all that is on offer and follow the links to Eventbrite to reserve your place. We know that some events will reach capacity very quickly so you are advised to book as soon as possible.
This week our priest in charge was honoured to be involved in the village commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings. As padre to the Mountsorrel branch of the Royal British Legion, Revd Colin Resch led prayers at the wreath laying ceremony in the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre attended by the Mayor of Charnwood Dr Julie Bradshaw MBE. Borough & Parish Councillors, invited guests and a delgation from our twinned village of Montsorreau in France were also present for the ceremony. It was a truly memorable occasion and a fitting tribute to the memory of the men and women who gave so much on that day to protect the freedom of our society.

It was a great afternoon at Muddy Church on Saturday 14 October. We read from scripture that God entrusted us with care of the environment so, as well as joining in with all of the usual Muddy Church experiences such as singing a song, exploring nature and toasting marshmallows over the fire, we made a hedgehog house to leave in the orchard. We also made some fantastic bug hotels and ladybird palaces – some to leave in the orchard, some to take home. Hopefully we’ve done just a little bit to encourage some wildlife to thrive.
