Christmas Gallery
What is it?
We have seen some amazingly talented artists in our community and want to support and encourage them to continue with their art as well as to showcase their pieces. Art has always been a big part of the church and St Peter’s is no exception, with some beautiful paintings and several stained glass windows. What better place to set up a temporary art gallery to celebrate Christmas?
Who can take part?
Anybody can contribute a piece of art. Those under 18 will need to talk to their parents before booking a spot to make sure that they are OK with you taking part. You will also need to have a think about whether you are happy to be contacted about the possible sale of your piece.
When will the Gallery by open?
Friday 29th November 3pm-6pm
Saturday 30th November 10am-6pm
What else do I need to know?
During the first weekend of Advent, St Peter’s Church will be open for visitors to come and view all the wonderful Christmas Pictures that have been created by our community. There will also be the opportunity to bid on selected pieces of art, with all the proceeds going to the artist.
We will accept artwork in any medium, so whether your passion is pens, charcoals, paint or collage, now is the time to get creative. You are free to frame it if you would like, but this is not compulsory.
All finished pieces need to be no larger than A2 in size and need to be available from Thursday 28th November to Monday 2nd December.
There is no cost to taking part other than your own art supplies!
