Bell Ringing at St Peter’s

Looking for a new hobby? Why not try Bellringing at St Peter’s?
If you’re looking for a fun new hobby, then Bell Ringing at St Peter’s is fun, rewarding and sociable. St Peter’s has a ring of eight bells and a small team of ringers who ring before our Sunday services, for weddings and on other special occasions. We are always looking for new people to join the band and we welcome people of all ages who have a musical ear and a desire to learn. Bell ringers practice at St Peter’s on a Tuesday evening at 7pm. When you first start, we’ll take you through the basics and whilst it can take some time to learn, it won’t be too long before you are joining in properly and learning ’rounds’.

Our bell-ringers practice regularly on a Tuesday evening from 7pm – 8pm. We welcome new ringers to come along to our practice night to learn more about the art of bell-ringing. Just occasionally it is not possible for us to ring on a Tuesday night, so if you are not a regular ringer and wanted to come along, either check to see if you can hear the bells ringing or give our Tower Captain, Mr David Bird a ring on 0116 230 3095 to check if the practice is going ahead.

  • Bell Ringing Suspended
Unfortunately, due to a broken stay on one of the bells, there will be no bell ringing at St Peter’s Church until further notice. We are sorry for the disappointment. Our team are working on fixing the issue and getting us back to normal as soon as possible.
