A Christmas invitation for you…
Welcome to our website. And a very happy Christmas to you.
We’d like to thank you for popping by and take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our public worship services in the coming days. They are open to all and all are welcome.
Our gathered worship is a key expression of our love for God and we believe that when we gather together, Jesus is with us and among us. During the coming week we have services in both of our churches on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Sunday morning, 29th December, we will unite at St Peter’s Church for a special Christmas Praise service.
Even if you’ve never been to Church before, you are sure to find a warm welcome at our services.
Christmas Eve
A Christingle service will take place at 4pm at Christ Church. Gather all the family together and come along for a joyous celebration of God’s love as we explore the ancient meaning behind an orange, a candle, a ribbon and some sweets. The service is completely free of charge, although donations towards the work of The Children’s Society are welcomed.
A service of Holy Communion (Midnight Mass) will take place at St Peter’s Church beginning at 23.15pm. The words and music will be traditional with Bible readings from Titus 3.4-7 & Luke 2.1-20. The service will last about an hour and will take us gently into Christmas Day.
Christmas Day
Join us at 9.30am in St Peter’s Church for a traditional service of Holy Communion with Bible readings from Hebrews 1.1-12 & John 1.1-14. The service will be led by Revd Colin Resch.
or
Join us at 11am in Christ Church for a family celebration of Holy Communion. Children (and adults) are encouraged to bring a Christmas gift they have received to show to everyone. The service will be led by Revd Colin Resch and our preacher will be Kat Jenkins our Youth Worker. The Bible reading is from Luke 2.1-20.
Sunday 29th December
On this Sunday after Christmas, we will join together at St Peter’s Church along with members of the other Mountsorrel Churches. We will sing some great Christmas tunes and receive Bible teaching from Colossians 3.12-17.
