An invitation for you…
Welcome to our website. We’d like to thank you for popping by and take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our public worship services in the coming days. They are open to all and all are welcome.
Sunday worship is a key expression of our love for God and we believe that when we gather together, Jesus is with us and among us. This coming weekend we have services in both of our churches on Sunday morning. Even if you’ve never been before, you are sure to find a warm welcome.
Christ Church
We will be marking Remembrance Sunday during our 11am Sunday Worship with an Act of Remembrance and two minutes silence. The service will be especially suitable for all ages with activities for everyone from the youngest to the oldest. Tea and Coffee will be available during the service giving a cafe vibe to our time together. The Bible reading during our service will be from Mark 1.14-20.
St Peter’s Church
Our 9.30am service this morning will include Holy Communion and an Act of Remembrance, including reading the names of those listed on our war memorial. Our Bible Readings will be Colossians 1.3-12 and Matthew 9.18-26.
Royal British Legion Remembrance Parade & Service
At 3pm, we welcome to St Peter’s Church, the Royal British Legion, civic dignitaries, members of uniformed organisations and the local community for our Service of Remembrance. The parade will march off from the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre at 2.30pm and move along Loughborough Road to Market Place for the service in St Peter’s Church. After the service, the parade route is reversed finishing on The Green.
On Armistice Day, Monday 11th November, at 11am, there will be a short act of remembrance in the Peace Garden opposite St Peter’s Church to which everyone is invited.
