Annual Parochial Church Meeting

Our annual meeting will take place in St Peter’s Church following our service of Evensong.

At this meeting we will be electing Churchwardens and members to the Church Council and hearing reports of the work and ministry of St Peter’s during 2023.

The agenda and annual report will be available for download from early April.

Bell Ringing Practice Night

St Peter’s has a ring of eight bells and our bell-ringers practice regularly on a Tuesday evening from 7pm – 8pm. We welcome new ringers to come along to our practice night to learn more about the art of bell-ringing.

Occasionally it is not possible for us to ring on a Tuesday night, so if you are not a regular ringer and wanted to come along, either check to see if you can hear the bells ringing or give our Tower Captain, Mr David Bird a ring on 0116 230 3095 to check if the practice is going ahead.

All Age Communion Service

Join us at St Peter’s for a service of Holy Communion using liturgy from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. This traditional service has been specially adapted to make it suitable for families and children and may include hymns led by a small choir. Whether you are new to Church or have been attending for many years, whatever your age, you will find that the words and music draw you close to the living God and his son Jesus Christ in worship and adoration.

After the conclusion of our service, do stay to join us for tea and coffee served in the Antill Vestry at the back of Church when you will have the opportunity to chat to other members of the congregation and make new friends.

Holy Communion

Join us at St Peter’s for a special service to mark Ascension Day.

Our service will be one of Holy Communion using liturgy from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. The readings will be those set out for Ascension Day: Acts 1.1-11  and  Mark 16.14-end. Whether you are new to Church or have been attending for many years, you will find that the words and music draw you close to the living God in worship and adoration.

A Prayer for Ascension Day:
Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that like as we do believe thy only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to have ascended into the heavens; so we may also in heart and mind thither ascend, and with him continually dwell; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end.
