The Gap – After School Club
Come to The Gap. An after-school club open to everyone with school aged children meeting every Wednesday during term time.
Children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Those aged 11 and over can come without an adult, but must have a permission form filled in and signed by a parent/carer.
We open the doors at 3pm for a game whilst we wait for others to arrive and then at 3.30pm there’s drinks and snacks followed by games, crafts, story and reflection. Every three or four weeks we hold a short all age service using crafts, thoughts and reflections that we have come up with during thye past weeks followed by a sit-down meal together.
Coffee Morning
Drop in to our weekly coffee morning every Friday at Christ Church from 10am – 12noon. Come for half an hour; come for the whole two hours – we don’t mind. You will be assured of a very warm welcome, home-made cakes, and the opportunity to meet and make new friends.
We are a designated Place of Welcome so if you are looking for some company, do pop along one Friday and join the fun.
Senior Sunday
Living in Mountsorrel, over 60 and on your own? You are invited to join us for our ‘Senior Sunday’ worship and tea service.
At 4pm on the second Sunday of each month, we hold a special service at St Peter’s Church lasting no more than half an hour. This is followed by afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes served in the vestry. Join in with the topical chatter and meet some new friends.
We’d love to see you if you can make it. If you need a lift, please call and we’ll do what we can to get you a lift.

Starting Rite
Starting Rite is a baby-centred course run over five weeks for mums or dads and babies who aren’t yet on the move. It includes lots of fun activities – singing, storytelling, bathing, baby-touch and other multi-sensory play.
There are five sessions:
Peek-a-boo! We use different materials to hide our faces while singing peek-a-boo songs to our babies. This session talks about how we can know God.
How Much Love! We do lots of baby-touch. This session is all about God’s love for us.
Splash! We splash around in water and look at lights inside a tent. Here we talk about baptism.
Bubble-talk! We blow bubbles to our babies and roll beach balls around to each other. We learn about prayer.
Storytime! Three Bible stories are acted out; we get to play with pebbles, sand, material, and toy sheep. This is about reading the Bible.
If you are interested to find out more or to sign up, please contact Alison White (Children & Families Worker). You can call, text or WhatsApp on 07305 664009 or complete the contact form below
