Today, to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (18-25 January), the four Churches of Mountsorrel will gather together for worship at the Mountsorrel Baptist Church.
“How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore.” Psalm 133
Today the four churches of Mountsorrel gather together to celebrate our Patronal Festival – St Peter’s Day – with us.
Join us at St Peter’s for a service of Holy Communion using liturgy from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. This traditional service includes hymns that are usually led by a small choir. Whether you are new to Church or have been attending for many years, you will find that the words and music draw you close to the living God in worship and adoration.
After the conclusion of our service, do stay to join us for a bring and share lunch. Tea and coffee will also be available in the Antill Vestry at the back of Church when you will have the opportunity to chat to other members of the congregation and make new friends.
Today the four Churches of Mountsorrel will gather together for worship at the Mountsorrel Methodist Church to join them in their anniversary celebrations and annual Covenant Service.
Please note there will be no services at either Christ Church or St Peter’s Church today.
“How good and pleassant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore.” Psalm 133
Join us at Christ Church for our service of Holy Communion to welcome Christmas Day.
Our services are suitable for people of all ages and you can be assured of a warm welcome whether you are new to our Church or if you’ve been coming along since… well, for ever. We offer a blend of modern worship that we think you will enjoy. In our service today, we share in Holy Communion (bread and wine) remembering the Last Supper when Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples asking that they continue to do this in remembrance of him.
Starting at 11.15pm, we will enjoy the singing of carols, familiar Bible readings and a celebration of Holy Communion just after midnight and into Christmas Day. This has to be the best way to begin Christmas proper.
If you’re new to Church, just let someone know when you arrive and we will guide you through the service and answer any questions you might have.
