We’d love to meet you…

Hello and welcome to our website. Here is where you will find out more about all that we are doing as God’s people in Mountsorrel. There are all sorts of activities, events and services that you can join in with.

This coming weekend, we’d love to invite you to join us for a special service of Holy Communion designed for people of all ages. The service will take place at St Peter’s Church, Market Place beginning at 9.30am and will be led by me, Revd Colin Resch. The talk will be given by Alison White, one of our children and families team. For those that like a bit of a lie-in, at 11am, there will be a service of Sunday Worship at Christ Church (top of the Green) and will include the baptism of Eddie.

If you are new to Church or haven’t been for a while, you can be assured of a warm welcome to either of our churches. Just turn up a few minutes before the service is due to start and find a seat. If you have any questions when you are there, please ask one of our welcome team who will be happy to help.

Your invitation to join us…

Welcome to our website. We’d love to welcome you to our Church too.

This coming weekend, you can join us for Muddy Church in the orchard at the back of Christ Church. This special outdoor experience is all about meeting God in nature. We will sing, cook food on the fire, explore a Bible theme together and discover more about ourselves and God. We meet at 4pm on Saturday 16 September.
On Sunday we will meet at Christ Church at 11am for our service of Sunday Worship. Even if you are not a regular church goer, you will be assured of a warm welcome. Just turn up a few minutes before 11am and find a seat. If you have any questions, speak to a member of our welcome team who will be able to help.
On Sunday evening at 6pm, we begin our Harvest Festival season with a special service of Evening Prayer (Evensong) at St Peter’s Church. Come and join us as we sing our familiar harvest hymns and thank God for the provision of our harvest.

Welcome

I’m so glad you found our website. I hope you find all the information you want to about the life of our Church here in Mountsorrel.
But don’t just stop with the website, please join us in person at one of our Sunday worship services. This coming Sunday we begin at 9.30am with a service of Holy Communion at St Peter’s Church followed by tea and coffee.
Then at 11am we meet at Christ Church (top of the Green) for a service of All Age Worship led by our children and families team.
Later, back at St Peter’s Church, at 4pm, there is a special service and afternoon tea for our seniors.

An invitation for you…

I am pleased that you found our website and I hope you are able to find out all that you need to know about events and services taking place in our churches. This week, we return to our regular pattern of Morning Prayer and weekly activities. This includes a book club on Wednesday at St Peter’s Church beginning at 2pm. You would be most welcome to pop along and join the fun. The book we will be looking at is The Villa in Italy by Elizabeth Edmonson. Our relaxed weekly drop-in Coffee Morning continues on Friday at 10am in Christ Church.
This Sunday, there is no morning worship service in either of our churches as we gather together with the Churches Together in Mountsorrel at Mountsorrel Methodist Church at 10.30am. We’d love to see you there if you can make it.
At 4pm, our regular Fun@4 and Youth@4 sessions take place in Christ Church. Everyone is welcome to come along to join in the fun with a barbecue to get the new term started.

This is your invitation to join us

I would love to extend an invitation to you to join us in one or both of our Churches this coming Sunday 27th August for our Sunday Worship.

At St Peter’s Church, 9.30am, there will be a service of Holy Communion particularly aimed at the whole family.

At Christ Church, 11am, there will be a service of Morning Prayer with baptisms and we look forward to welcoming Xavier, Ceddie and Maeve along with their families and friends as we celebrate and worship God together.

Both services will be followed by free refreshments, so do stay for a chat afterwards if you’re not rushing off elsewhere.

I hope to see you there. Every blessing, Colin Resch.

Summer 23 has finally arrived

Yes, our fabulous week of activities has finally arrived. We’ve been planning, plotting and scheming for months and now, all our hard work is done and the fun can begin.

Check out our Summer 23 webpage for all the details of our free activities.

There are over 2000 free tickets available across eighteen different events during the week. Many are suitable for children, some are designed specifically for youth and there are a couple aimed at adults only. Whatever you like to do, we think there is something for you. So take a look and grab a free ticket before they all go.
