Happy Christmas…

Welcome to our website. We’d like to thank you for popping by and take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our public worship services in the coming days. They are open to all and everyone is welcome.
Our gathered worship is a key expression of our love for God and we believe that when we gather together, Jesus is with us and among us. We would love to extend a welcome to you even if you have never been to Church before or if it has been a while since you have been with us.

This Coming Sunday (28th December), we have a very special Christmas celebration as all the Churches of Mountsorrel – Anglican, Methodist & Baptist – join together for a service of Christmas Praise. Join us at Christ Church (top of The Green) for a service that begins at 11am. This will be a relaxed service blending traditional and contemporary carols and giving you a chance to escape the noise and chaos of Christmas and find time to worship God together. We hope you can join us.

A Christmas invitation…

Welcome to our website. We’d like to thank you for popping by and take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our public worship services in the coming days and over the Christmas period. They are open to all and everyone is welcome.

We would love to extend a welcome to you even if you have never been to Church before or if it has been a while since you have been with us. Here is some of what is to come…

Christmas Eve
There are two services for Christmas Eve:

At 4pm, our Christingle Service takes place at Christ Church and everyone is welcome to join us for this very special and atmospheric service. This is a great way to begin Christmas proper and the Church is usually packed, so come early if you wish to sit together with friends.

Our Midnight Holy Communion Service (sometimes referred to as Midnight Mass) begins at 11.30pm and sees us gathering at the Lord’s Table as we move into Christmas Day. Bread and wine is shared in remembrance of Jesus’ love in giving himself for us.

Christmas Day
There are services at both St Peter’s and Christ Church:

St Peter’s Church.
Join us at 9.30am at St Peter’s Church for a special service of Holy Communion using liturgy from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Whether you are new to Church or have been attending for many years, you will find that the words and music draw you close to the living God in worship and adoration.

Christ Church
Join us for worship at Christ Church at 11am. If you’ve been lucky enough to receive a Christmas present, why not bring it with you to show everyone what you’ve received.

Our services are suitable for people of all ages and you can be assured of a warm welcome whether you are new to our Church or if you’ve been coming along since… well, for ever. Come on your own, with a friend or with your family. Parents, bring your children; children, bring your grown-ups.

Christmas is nearly here and this Sunday we are getting into the festivities with a family nativity service that begins at 4pm. The service will be led by some of the Children from our local school with the help of our Children and families Worker and Youth Worker. This will be followed by drinks and nibbles.
At 6pm, we have a Candlelit Carol Service with readings and traditional carols. This is a great way to get yourself ready for Christmas and we hope you will be able to join us.
