An invitation for you…
Welcome to our website. We’d like to thank you for popping by and take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our public worship services this Easter. They are open to all and everyone is welcome.
Our gathered worship is a key expression of our love for God and we believe that when we gather together, Jesus is with us and among us. This coming Sunday (19th April) there are services in both of our Churches. We would love to extend a welcome to you even if you have never been to Church before or if it has been a while since you have been with us.
Christ Church
Our Sunday Worship at Christ Church begins each week at 11am. Our services are suitable for people of all ages and you can be assured of a warm welcome whether you are new to our Church or if you’ve been coming along since… well, for ever. We offer a blend of modern worship that we think you will enjoy. Come on your own, with a friend or with your family. Parents, bring your children; children, bring your grown-ups.
The Bible reading in our service today will be from Acts 2.14a, 36-41. During our service today, we share in Holy Communion (bread and wine) remembering the Last Supper when Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples asking that they continue to do this in remembrance of him. There will also be the opportunity for those who like to receive prayers for healing – either for themselves or someone else – to do so.
If you’re new to Church, just let someone know when you arrive and we will guide you through the service and answer any questions you might have. There’s always good coffee on hand (other drinks are available) and a biscuit or two. So do come and join us.
After our service today we will hold our Annual Meeting for the election of Churchwardens, Deanery Synod member and Church Council members. Our annual report will be presented and there will be the opportunity to ask questions about life in our parish.
St Peter’s Church
Join us this Sunday evening at 6pm for a service of Evening Prayer (Evensong) using liturgy from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. This traditional service includes hymns that are usually led by a small choir. Whether you are new to Church or have been attending for many years, you will find that the words and music draw you close to the living God in worship and adoration.
The Bible readings used in our service will be Psalm 116, Zephaniah 3.14-20 and Acts 2.14a, 36-41.
After the conclusion of our service, do grab a mug of tea or coffee from the Antill Vestry at the back of Church before coming back into the Church for our Annual Meeting when Churchwardens, a Deanery Synod member and Church Council members will be elected. Our annual report will be presented and there will be the opportunity to ask questions about life in our parish.
