Alleluia! Christ is risen.
Happy Easter. Welcome to our website. We’d like to thank you for popping by and take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our public worship services this Easter. They are open to all and everyone is welcome.
Our gathered worship is a key expression of our love for God and we believe that when we gather together, Jesus is with us and among us. This coming Sunday (5th April) and next Sunday (12th April) there are services in both of our Churches. We would love to extend a welcome to you even if you have never been to Church before or if it has been a while since you have been with us.
Christ Church
Our Easter Day service begins at 11am. We offer a blend of modern worship that we think you will enjoy. Come on your own, with a friend or with your family. Parents, bring your children; children, bring your grown-ups. Today is Easter Sunday and in our service today, we share in Holy Communion (bread and wine) remembering the Last Supper when Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples asking that they continue to do this in remembrance of him. Our Bible reading will be John 20.1-18.
Our service on 12th April is led by our fabulous children and families team and is especially suitable for people of all ages. Our Bible reading will be John 20.19-31. You can be assured of a warm welcome whether you are new to our Church or if you’ve been coming along since… well, for ever.
If you’re new to Church, just let someone know when you arrive and we will guide you through the service and answer any questions you might have. There’s always good coffee on hand (other drinks are available) and a biscuit or two. So do come and join us.
St Peter’s Church
Our Easter morning service begins at 9.30am. We remember Christ, risen from the dead with a service of Holy Communion using liturgy from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. This traditional service includes hymns that are often led by a small choir. Our Bible readings will be Colossians 3.1-7 and John 20.1-10. After the conclusion of our service, do stay to join us for tea and coffee served in the Antill Vestry at the back of Church when you will have the opportunity to chat to other members of the congregation and make new friends.
Our service on 12th April begins at 9.30am and will include Holy Communion. Our Bible readings will be Acts 2.14a, 22-32 John 20.19-31. Later that day, at 4pm, we meet for Senior Sunday – a short service followed by a sandwich tea.
Whether you are new to Church or have been attending for many years, we are sure that you will find that the words and music draw you close to the living God in worship and adoration.
