An invitation for you…
Welcome to our website. We’d like to thank you for popping by and take this opportunity to invite you to join us for our public worship services in the coming days. They are open to all and all are welcome.
Our gathered worship is a key expression of our love for God and we believe that when we gather together, Jesus is with us and among us. Ascension Day (celebrated on 29th May) marked the beginning of Thy Kingdom Come – a special period of prayer for others. At St Peter’s we will gather every evening from 29th May to 7th June inclusive for a short service of Night Prayer (Compline) which begins at 8.30pm. This is a great way to end the day and we would be more than happy for you to join us.
This coming Sunday (8th June) is Pentecost Sunday when the Church remembers the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the early Church. There will be services in both of our Churches and you will be most welcome to join with us – even if you’ve never been to our Church before.
Christ Church
Our Sunday Worship begins at 11am, so feel free to join us a few minutes before then. If you’re new to our Church, please introduce yourself to one of the welcome team and we will be happy to talk you through what you can expect. Tea/Coffee will be available free of charge throughout our service so please feel free to make use of that facility. This service will be espcially suitable for families and people of all ages to join together in worship. Our Bible reading will be Acts 2.1-21.
St Peter’s Church
There are two services at St Peter’s Church this Sunday. Our main service is at 9.30am during which we will share Holy Communion together. This service will be followed by free refreshments served in the vestry. Our Bible readings for this service will be Acts 2.1-21 and John 14.8-27.
Then, at 4pm we gather again for our Senior Sunday service which will be followed by a sandwich tea served in the vestry.
