An invitation to our Pentecost worship
We are currently in a period of prayer. Thursday 18 May was Ascension Day and it marked the beginning of Thy Kingdom Come – a time when the Church prays for the growing of God’s Kingdom. Our Churches are open during the day for quiet prayer and contemplation . Each evening until the eve of Pentecost (27 May), there will be a short service of Compline (night prayer) beginning at 8.30pm in St Peter’s Church.
This culminates with Pentecost Sunday when the Church remembers the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the early believers in Jerusalem. We will mark this with services of Holy Communion in both of our Churches:
At St Peter’s Church we begin at 9.30am. I will be leading the service together with Alison White, one of our children and family workers.
At Christ Church we begin at 11am. Our service here will be led by Steve Delaforce.
I do hope you will be able to join us for worship and celebration this weekend. With every blessing, Colin Resch.
